TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Upgrade is specifically designed for people who are wanting to bring their completed superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, up to the required industry standard by method of recognition of prior learning, and/or recognition of current competency (RPL/RCC) assessment.

Entry Requirements
Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
Upgrading Your TAE
- The upgrade to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment initially commences as a recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment of your existing skills, knowledge and experience.
- Once enrolled you will be provided with an RPL Kit to complete that will provide you with examples of evidence you are able to provide for each of the units within this qualification to demonstrate competency. You will also be provided with one on one support from your assigned AALI Trainer and Assessor.
- Credit Transfer
- As part of the upgrade you will have the opportunity to apply for credit transfer for equivalent unit/s within the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from your superseded Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110.
- You will be required to include within your portfolio of evidence, a certified copy of your completed TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment certificate and records of results page, and/or a statement of attainment for the unit/s that have been completed by you within the TAE training package.
- A certified copy, is a copy of your original certificate witnessed and signed by a Justice of the Peace, Police Officer or Pharmacist etc.
- The following table provides information about the units that have been superseded, and identifies equivalent units and non equivalent units within the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Those who have already completed the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 and are wanting to upgrade their qualification to the current version.
People who have completed the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
You have usually been engaged in the workforce for many years doing a variety of different types of work within industry and/or RTO/s, and who have experience in VET.
- You are able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed teaching and assessing area
- You have broad industry knowledge and experience, including but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification
- Your role may have, or currently involves some coaching/mentoring with individuals or small groups within industry, and/or RTO/s in the recent past or present
- Your role may have, or currently involves training others in the workplace and/or RTO/s in the recent past or present
- Your role may have, or currently involves training of small groups or individuals within industry and/or an RTO/s in the recent past or present
- You are currently in the role as an enterprise trainer within industry and/or RTO/s
- You are currently in the role as an enterprise assessor within industry and/or RTO/s
- You are wanting to upgrade your skills, knowledge and currency to the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
