All training and assessments are conducted self paced. We recommend completing 1 unit of competency per month, or at the very least 1 unit of competency every 5 weeks. You are provided with full training and assessment support from your dedicated Trainer assigned to you for the duration of your studies. By completing 1 unit of competency per month this will then allow flexibility throughout the 12 months to complete your assessments. Upon enrolment you will be provided with an Assessment Plan recommending the dates to complete your assessments over the 12 month period, and all information relating to your qualification. The recommended hours consists of a maximum of 60 hours per unit of competency for Certificate IV Qualifications, and a maximum of 90 hours per unit of competency for a Diploma Qualification. These hours are based on an individual who has NO or limited knowledge of the subject matter. These hours are based on participants who have no, or very little industry experience or knowledge of the practices required for the qualification. These hours will vary per unit you complete, covering all reading required, completion of assessment activities, and project work to be completed. The hours recommended will depend upon your current skills, knowledge, and experience, and can potentially be reduced based on this. The recommended hours do not take into consideration any potential recognition of prior learning (RPL) that may be potentially awarded based on your current skills, knowledge, and experience. If you believe that you would be a suitable candidate for potential RPL, please contact our office and we will be able to assist you further. Method of Assessment The term assessment refers to the process that the Australian Adult Learning Institute will use to gather and discuss information from multiple and diverse sources, in order to develop a clear picture of what a student knows, has learnt and understood, and can do with their knowledge gained as a result of their educational experience with us. Our goal is to guide you towards the successful completion of your Nationally Recognised Qualification with the industry knowledge and practice, to confidently implement these skills into a workplace environment. The assessments that you will be completing You should respond to all the formative and summative assessments by completing your assessments online after you have read all the online learning resources for the unit of competency that you are currently studying. Written responses can be recorded in the areas provided within your online learning, or submitted in either a word or pdf document. For some of these activities you may be required to work and interact with others in a practical application and/or setting. Assessments during the COVID-19 Pandemic You have the opportunity to demonstrate that you have completed the practical skills and performance required by the verification and confirmation of this by a suitable Third Party Referee (e.g. Recent or Current Manager or Supervisor). Should this be the case, please advise your dedicated AALI Trainer/Assessor who will be able to provide you with guidance of how this can be achieved, and the resources for your suitable Third Party Referee to complete. If you do not have access to a suitable Third Party Referee, do not be concerned. In this instance you are able to complete the required skills and performance within simulated assessment activities. You may be required to work and interact with others in simulated assessment activities. To ensure you are safe and that you abide by the social distancing protocols as advised by the Department of Health, we recommend when completing these simulated assessment activities that you use online platforms for example Face Time, Skype or Zoom, for the provision of recorded evidence of the completion of these simulated assessment activities.
